Finish The Fight

Well friends, this has been a long time coming; my final words on the ‘Correctness’ issue. As you may have read, the Box and myself have recently had a dispute over one of my anti-Wii posts. Tempers flared as harsh words were typed behind LCD screen to one another, and I was left looking like a dick.

As most of you may know, I am not a dick at all; rather pleasant actually. But the Box’s actions in handling our argument have left me disappointed. I posted, the Box re-posted bashing me. I commented explaining myself, he torn down & reposted a less hateful entry. Then I commented again, explaining myself again, and more clearly to which The box didn’t publish and locked the post.

This left me seeming like a vindictive prick with nothing better to do with his time then start flame wars and watch the wicks burn. This is not the case. Lets begin:

one
I can see your point on comment length, but it doesn’t make much sense to me. The comments appear below the blog, in the same fashion, so reading 4 pages on one blog vs. another seems irrelevant. The only difference being you have content control and you also have to link to it. But to each their own.

two
Its hard to accept such a bloated apology but I’ll try. My title isn’t meant to be literal, nor is it regarding fact. If you look at Liam’s posts, almost all of the contain song lyrics of which he didn’t write. This doesn’t really mean anything, its not a singing blog. Its catchy, captures interest.

The post is not presented as fact, but as negative experiences which I seemingly continue to have when it comes to the device in question. I don’t recall saying that my opinion and experiences is the end all be all of video games. I don’t see the lunacy in blogging my experiences.

three
I did say part of the reason for posting was to see your reaction. But that’s not why I write my blog. No sir, I don’t value yours or anyone else’s 2 cents enough to take that much time and effort out of my day to blog about it.

My blog exists because it is a good exercise for me (and because Liam forced me into it). I don’t read/write enough and keeping a blog is a good way to do so. Helps keep the creative juices flowing, so to speak.

So what should I write about? Well, my experiences and opinions of subject areas I care about sounds like a nice start; and that is what I did. No Mr. Box, I don’t get my kicks by reading about your frustrations with others’ opinions. Were that the case, I’d probably be on the Mac forums as we speak, yet here I sit.

conclude
I’m not writing this very post to anger you, or for revenge; I write to ‘clear my name’ and appear like a normal human being who is capable of being functional in society. I’ll admit your omission of my last comment angered me, but I’m more concerned with my girlfriend not thinking I’m a dick over clearing the air with you. I also write because I can and should; it is a good exercise.

As well, I noticed the recent face lift in your blog, including the WoW link omission, not that I have anything to say to that.

PS I don’t normally do this, but this time comments will be locked. This isn’t a discussion. If you still have an issue with my opinion post on the Wii, you can put your comment in your own post and I will be sure to ignore it. This is basically my unpublished comment from the Boxes last post regarding the issue.

[stay tuned for other great posts coming soon]

commets
In regards to the comments left on the Boxes post, in particular, regarding this comic, I would just like to point out that a a person from the Wii line got very very angry over a post. Anger with an Xbox liner.

Adventures In Radio Land

I was driving to work today and become really bored with my 2 usual radio stations that I listen too on my daily commute: FM96 and 91.5 The Beat. So I decide to wander dangerously into my other radio presets, and hit up 103.9 The Hawk.

The song they were playing wasn’t too bad, so I stuck around. And I’m glad I did. I quickly started loving the song. It made me realize what a sheltered musical life I’ve been living the past few years.

The sing, ladies & gentleman, was Do Ya Think I’m Sexy by Rod Stewart.

Now that you are done laughing, let me explain. I knew nothing about the man, so I looked into some more of his music. Most of his stuff seemed to be love songs or the pop variety; not very exciting to me.

But if you have a decent set of speakers, it’s the back beat & synthesizers that wound my crank. It struck a chord with disco for me and I absolutely love that sound.

When I got to work, I had to youTube another old favourite of mine: Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry. I just think the sounds of funk & disco are a lost treasure. (ps, I haven’t heard a lot of disco, so don’t take this as a fanboyism).

And a couple of side notes: Lulz at Mr. “Drums” @ 0:26 and I really think the 2nd guitarist looks like this guy in his 20s:
